As part of our dissemination activities, I was fortunate to attend CeDEM 2014 conference organized by Danube University Krems.
During two and half day program (between May 21st and 23rd 2014) I’ve learned a lot about wider topics surrounding Open Data: e-democracy, e-voting, transparency, open innovation, open science, civic participation, etc.
The best keynote directly related to Open Data activities of Comsode project was the one given by Jeanne Holm about the evolution of Open Data in USA: The role of NASA and White House, agile and open development practices in Project Open Data, etc.
Plus there were other relevant presentations and papers, for example Raimondo Iemma’s “Breaking Public Administrations’ Data Silos“, Ulrich Atz’s “The Tau of Data“, Martijn Hartog’s “The Structural Adoption of Open Data in Governmental Organisations: Technology and Organisation in Practice“, Herbert Kubicek’s “The Organization Gap in the Provision of Public Information and Open Data – The Case of the City State of Bremen, Germany“, Anneke Zuiderwijk’s “Elements for the Development of an Open Data Marketplace” and many more. For full list of packed program follow this link .
Finally, at the Open Space session I presented and discussed our OD publication platform Open Data Node in particular and COMSODE in general with attendees interested in Open Data: they were for example able to get an exclusive quick peek at its Architecture and Design, which we are finalizing and will be released shortly.
